After a few months of drawing up plans and back and fourths with the client, New Edition Bookshop has finally opened it’s tiny cafe – The Grumpy Sailor. Pop in next time you’re in Northbridge for a coffee – I hear it’s good.

An that note, if you’re in Freo, there’s also another Grumpy Sailor which we helped design. The bagels there are amazing.

So the other day Peter (Paul brother) decided to order a Little Piano, much to our delight it was posted to our office so we got to have a jam on it before Peter got his hands on it. This little piano is so cool, although the tiny keys make Bach a little difficult to play, but we had our fair share of jazz played on it. I think a jam session at monk is soon in order!

Jane and Rob run their own small side business, turning used china into beautiful ornamental pieces. They are well worth checking out.

We decided to customise our own “merry christmas” which took, oh, only 20hours! We printed the card onto some lovely 280gsm paper we got from our local art supplies store. (Where we got side tracked talking to one of the workers there who had just bought his girlfriend this AWESOME retro typewriter) and vola after a day of cutting up the cards into bit size A6 pieces we have our cards done and dusted.

Hope everyone has a Good christmas. lots of love from us at Monk xox.
